More Quilt Cards Using Stampin’ Up! Scrap Designer Series Paper

I love these coordinating DSP patterns.  However, I learned that creating the look of a heart shape quilt should have similar colors.  That’s another tip that I will remember!

I took the quilt card a step further and embossed it giving it texture and it reminded me of an actual quilt.  It completely changed the look when compared to the first one I made which I posted yesterday (2 Feb 2022).

As you can see below, the heart shape is difficult to see. Still pretty, however, the heart shape is not obvious. I thought about outlining the heart with my Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker, but was concerned I would ruin the card.

I was so excited to make another card, that I forgot to take pictures along the way. The steps to assemble the heart are provided below using the same pictures I used in my previous post (2 February 2023).

So here’s the updated list of TIPS:  Use three coordinating DSP.  Two should be like colors to form the heart shape and the third is placed around the heart shape.  Cutting the squares all equally is a must.  Using “directional” patterns are tricky when you cut them diagonally, so have a few extra square pieces available.

Make A Quilt Card Using Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper (DSP)

I am by no means a quilter, although I would love to learn how to be a quilter.  Unfortunately, my crafting abilities fall short in the sewing arena.  I can barely sew a button on!

Now that I made this card, I’m a little obsessed with making more.  I imagine that’s how a quilter feels!  These are my first ones and I will post later this week my others that I’m still working on.

This is an easy pattern to follow with some helpful tips.  Cutting the squares all equally is a must.  Using “directional” patterns are tricky when you cut them diagonally, so I would have a few extra square pieces available.  I used three patterns.  Two were to create the heart shape and the third was used around the heart.
