Stampin’ Up! Quiet Reflections

A wonderful stamp set that makes a gorgeous card.  This is just one card from my April class and it’s probably my favorite.  Before I stamped the image, I inked the top part in Shaded Spruce and then turned it around and inked the bottom portion in Balmy Blue.  Using a dauber, I lightly blended the area where both colors overlap to avoid having a distinct line before stamping.

Stampin’ Up! Sketched Plaid Plus Others

Well this was an interesting situation as I created this card. I didn’t think it would take a tribe of stamp sets to create it, however, I’m happy with how it turned out. I’m disappointed I couldn’t get a picture good enough to capture the color combinations I used.  It’s very striking in person.  I used Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock, Berry Burst and Blackberry Bliss.  If you have these colors, be sure to create a card using this combination and let me know what you think.

The list of products and colors I used on this card are listed below.  Products used can be purchased through my Stampin’ Up! on-line store, unless otherwise stated.  You can find my website information under SHOP.

Stampin’ Up! Tropical Leaf

I’ve been playing with the Tropical Leaf Bundle and decided to CASE a layout from Stampin’ Up!.  It’s a fun layout and it can certainly be a design of your own.  I added Petal Pink ink to the background by using my Blending Brush.  The best part of this card are the leaves.  Before stamping the leaf image, I stamped it with Soft Sea Foam ink, and then added Shaded Spruce ink lightly using my sponge dauber.  This technique guarantees each leaf is uniquely created!

The list of products and colors used are listed below.  Don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you are still in need of the new Stampin’ Up! annual catalog.

A Beautiful Card With No Layers

Have you ever created a card without adding any layers?  If not, you should give it a try.  I found it more challenging than I had originally thought, but I certainly had fun playing with the different colors.  I thought the envelope turned out beautifully too.

Since no layers, I used Thick Basic White, however, Thick Very Vanilla would also work.  I would not recommend using Stampin’ Blends for this project as it will show through the cardstock.  I originally used my Basic Black Marker and ruler to draw over the pencil marks to outline my stamped image.  I felt it was too thin of a line, so I went back over it with a (non-Stampin’ Up!) thicker marker.  Next time I create this technique, I will erase the pencil marks before drawing lines with the marker.  I added erasing the lines in the below instructions.

Fun Fold Card Using Stampin’ Up! Irresistible Blooms Suite

This fun fold card has a pocket that can hold a gift card, a message, or even both.  The outside flower and triple leaf are from the DSP using die cuts.  I trimmed the center of the border before stamping the hello sentiment with Pretty Peacock ink.  The inside flower is stamped using Daffodil Delight ink and stamped off the leaf using Pretty Peacock ink.

The Irresistible Bloom Suite is a Stampin’ Up! On-Line Exclusive which will be back in stock shortly after 17 April 2023.  If you’ve enjoyed seeing cards made with this suite, don’t hesitate to purchase it once it becomes available again.

  • Stamp outside sentiment using Pretty Peacock ink on Basic White.
  • Before adhering the border, I placed it over the front stamped sentiment to determine how much to trim away.

  • Add embellishment

Stampin’ Up! Sweet Citrus

I’ve been wanting to create oranges using this Sweet Citrus bundle since I got it.  This is CASed from another Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, Rachel Tessman, who created lemons.  I love how she trimmed the embossed piece.

There is a bit of a trick to trimming the embossed piece.  You definitely need a sharp blade in your trimmer.  If not, you will risk tearing the ends.  You will start trimming at the bottom and will rotate around as you trim.  Remember which is the top or else you will be putting a puzzle of oranges together.  Trust me!  LOL! I’ve included pictures which I hope will be helpful as you trim the pieces.

  • Stampin’ Ink:  Evening Evergreen, Parakeet Party, Grapefruit Grove, Pumpkin Pie
  • Embellishment:  Loose Frosted Dots
  • Adhesive of choice, Dimensionals
  • Cut & Emboss Machine
  • Paper Trimmer #152392

Cutting Instructions (measurements in inches):

  • Card Base, Basic White, 4 ¼ x 11, scored at 5 ½
  • Pumpkin Pie, 4 x 5 ¼
  • Grapefruit Grove, 3 13/16 x 5 (I know this is a strange measurement)
  • Basic White, 2 ½ x 1 ¼
  • Basic White, scrap pieces for oranges, leaves and flowers
  • Vellum, scrap pieces for Bough punch

Instructions:

  • Prepare card base, set aside.
  • Basic White scraps, stamp oranges using Grapefruit Grove.  Using a dauber, lightly add Pumpkin Pie to the bottom of the oranges to give it depth.
  • The inside oranges is stamped off using Grapefruit Grove.
  • Run the stamped oranges through your Cut & Emboss machine using the Hybrid Emboss folder with the die cut.  Set the pieces aside.
  • Basic White scraps for leaves.  First ink up in Parakeet Party and then using a dauber, lightly add Evening Evergreen to the leaves before stamping.  Die cut the pieces using your Cut & Emboss machine, set aside.
  • Stamp sentiment on Basic White, set aside.
  • Use the Bough punch to punch out several vellum pieces, set aside.
  • Run the Grapefruit Grove cardstock (3 13/16 x 5) through the embossing folder (without the die).
  • Let’s get ready to cut the embossed piece.  TIP:  As you cut the individual pieces, place them on the Pumpkin Pie which will help you keep the pieces together.
  • You will cut 1 ¼” starting at the bottom then 1 ¼” from the right end of the cut stripe.  (See photo.)
  • From the left upper side, cut 1 ¼” then 1 ¼” from the top of cut stripe. (See photo.)
  • Cut 1 ¼” from the bottom of the remaining piece.  (See photo.) The bottom cut piece will be replaced with the Basic White stamped sentiment.
  • Before cutting 1 ¼”, you will cut 1 1/6” from the right edge.  This is needed to evenly space out all of the pieces when you begin to adhere them to the Pumpkin Pie cardstock. After trimming 1 1/6 inch, cut 1 ¼” the remaining half pieces.
  • Begin to adhere the pieces onto the Pumpkin Pie.  Tip:  Start at the bottom and then the top.  This will help you keep the measurements evenly spaced.
  • Adhere the Basic White stamped sentiment.
  • Add the oranges, leaves, flowers, bough pieces using adhesive and dimensionals.
  • Add embellishment.

Stampin’ Up! Irresistible Blooms

This was created during my monthly upline meeting.  We used the Irresistible Blooms Suite that is only through the On-Line Exclusive.  The DSP is 6 x 6 and includes two returning colors that will be part of the Color Revamp. The two colors are Pretty Peacock and Lost Lagoon! We won’t see those colors, in addition to other new colors until the launch of the new Annual Catalog.

I checked the status of this Suite/Bundle and it is currently unavailable, however, is expected to be back in stock mid-April.  I do apologize for showing you this set this week although you will not be able to purchase until then.

Stampin’ Up! Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder

This card was created for a special couple that is getting married this month.  Their wedding color is sage, and I thought Soft Succulent would be the closest to matching the wedding color.  There are no other accent colors in the wedding, so I used shades of purple and thought it complimented the Soft Succulent nicely.  The leaves are from the Framed Florets die set which is expected to be back in stock towards the end of this month.  The pearls are left over from a previous Paper Pumpkin kit.

I checked the Clearance Section about a week or so ago and this Hybrid was still available.  It’s a really nice set to have.

Another Card Using Stampin’ Up! Country Floral Lane Suite

This card was created for my card class and in this layout I did use almost every item of the Country Floral Lane Suite Collection with the exception of the red ribbon. Truth be told, Mossy Meadow is not one of my go to colors, but it absolutely makes this card perfect with the country lane DSP in Petal Pink.  I noticed this suite is on back order.  Not surprised to see it on back order so quickly.

I used the Best Trio punch to decorate the corners of the Basic White label.  I love that no dies were used.

Make A Quilt Card Using Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper (DSP)

I am by no means a quilter, although I would love to learn how to be a quilter.  Unfortunately, my crafting abilities fall short in the sewing arena.  I can barely sew a button on!

Now that I made this card, I’m a little obsessed with making more.  I imagine that’s how a quilter feels!  These are my first ones and I will post later this week my others that I’m still working on.

This is an easy pattern to follow with some helpful tips.  Cutting the squares all equally is a must.  Using “directional” patterns are tricky when you cut them diagonally, so I would have a few extra square pieces available.  I used three patterns.  Two were to create the heart shape and the third was used around the heart.
